Maumee Republican Club Endorses Candidates

Club supports strong candidates for public office in upcoming November 4th election.

MAUMEE . . . Tonight the Maumee Republican Club (MRC) held their monthly “Third Thursday” event at the Maumee Senior Center and endorsed candidates for the upcoming election to be held on Tuesday, the 4th of November.  “This is an amazing year with some of the best candidates we have seen in a while running for public office,” says Brad Reynolds, Chairman of the Maumee Republican Club.  “We are excited to be able to support so many strong candidates this year.  We all know that we have to work together to keep Ohio moving forward and the candidates we endorsed tonight are driven  and able to provide the leadership to continue Ohio’s comeback story.”

 The candidates endorsed included:

Governor & Lt. Governor: John R. Kasich & Mary Taylor

Attorney General: Mike DeWine

Auditor of State: Dave Yost

Treasurer of State: Josh Mandel

Secretary of State: Jon Husted

Ohio 5th Congressional District: Congressman Bob Latta

Ohio Supreme Court: Justice Sharon Kennedy & Justice Judi French

46th Ohio House District: Drew Blazsik

Domestic Relations Division Judge: Lisa McGowan

Lucas County Commissioner: Kevin Hadaad

The Maumee Republican Club exists to support and promote Republican Party ideas and to provide aid and assistance primarily to Republican candidates for local public office. Mr. Tom Waniewski will be visiting to talk with us about Toledo, Toledo City Council and the Toledo City Water Department.

Tom is a life-long resident of Northwest Ohio, although his television career took him for a spell to St. Louis and Detroit. Growing up in the Polish neighborhood of North Toledo, Tom developed his values from hard-working parents. His father, Steve, ran a small butcher shop and grocery store on Lagrange Street. His mother, Clara, worked at the General Motors Transmission plant on Alexis Road.

A graduate of St. Adalbert Grade School, St. Francis DeSales High School, The University of Toledo, and Bowling Green State University, Tom is a published author, writer, and current Resource Development Director for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Toledo.

His commitment to public service is unparalleled through his journalism career and in the many not-for-profit organizations he has been affiliated with.

Tom has always said his greatest accomplishment is being a good father to his daughter Jordan. Tom currently resides in West Toledo.

We meet every 3rd Thursday of the month at 7 PM, at the Maumee Senior Center

Maumee Republican Club will be participating in the Maumee Uptown Summer Fair on August 16th, 2014.  Please join us.

PARADE ROUTE: We are leaving the parking lot at Maumee United Methodist (405 Sackett Street, behind Gateway Middle School) at 10 am.

Set up begins at 8:30 am.

The new route will take approx. 30 minutes to walk, ending at Conant & Broadway streets.

The parade will pass Union School on Broadway and disperse PAST Gibbs Street.
No box, semi or dump-type trucks permitted due to space restrictions.

ALL ENTRIES MUST be decorated – please no pick up trucks with just a magnetic sign.

You will be assigned an entry number 10 days before the event along with line-up instructions. Rain or shine we march on!
